On September 1, 2017, the Agreement on Association of Ukraine with the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their member states came into force – this is the full name of the ultra-important agreement of our country. Actually, the Association Agreement was signed in two stages – March 21, 2014 – the political part, and June 27, 2014 – the economic. To date, all parties have ratified it, all possible procedures are followed and the Association Agreement comes into force. It enables Ukraine to move closer to the European Union in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. For example, citizens of Ukraine already have the possibility of visa-free entry into the Schengen area  – space free of border control within the European Union.

We have prepared a Map Jornal with an overview of the facts about the European Union. This web application includes:

EU countries with a short description

cities where the main EU institutions are located

the EU’s immediate neighbors and the level of their cooperation,

TimeLine Map with EU Chronology

the countries of the Eurozone and the Schengen zone.

Web maps are interactive; pop-up information, pop-up functions (on click), startup chronology via widget, scale management are available.

The web application was created using ArcGIS Online. Input theme layers and base map of the world are prepared in ArcGIS Pro. Data sources: the official website of the European Union, source vector data from the Natural Earth web resource.
